An exciting procedure
is used in which color pigments are placed into the dermal layer
of the skin using a very fine probe. The color can last from 1
- 5 years and is a convenient alternative to daily application
of makeup. The pigment is made of earth's finest ingredients of
inert organic and inorganic compounds formulated to be hypo-allergenic
and fade resistant.
What
type of procedures do you offer?
Eyeliner
and Eyelash Enhancement -
A fine, soft natural line can be created to add depth and definition
to your eyes. Your lashes will appear to be thicker. Color and
thickness can be individualized and make-up can be applied for
a more dramatic evening look.
Eyebrows -
Eyebrows are the frame for your eyes and face and, when designed
properly, lift the eyes to give a more youthful appearance, make
cheekbones appear more prominent, and influence how the nose is
perceived. Women whose eyebrows are sparse, light in color, have
non-existent eyebrows, can now enjoy the luxury of permanent eyebrows.
Lip Color -
Lip-liner and full lipstick color is perfect for reshaping uneven
lips and for making lips appear larger and fuller. Permanent Cosmetics
has the added benefit of preventing lipstick from bleeding, covering
scars, giving your lips a natural or more dramatic blend of color
enhancement, lasting all day, every day.
Camouflaged
Scars and Vitiligo - Color is matched to your skin tone and
is applied to the scar area to match the surrounding area so
that scars seem to disappear.
Areola/Nipple
Restoration -
The areola can be restored to a more natural looking color and
shape after surgery or mastectomy.
Cleft Lip -
Full lip color can be applied to reshape the lip and cover the
scars from cleft lip repair.
Cancer And
Burn Patients -
Eyebrows, eyelash enhancement and lip color can be done to reduce
the appearance of hair loss, scarring, or disfigurement.
What sort of people have it done?
Professional
or career women who have little time for applying make-up every
day
Those with allergies to conventional make-up
Women
(or men) with hair loss due to alopecia or very sparse hair
growth
Elderly women and those who have difficulty applying
make-up
Athletic women and those with oily skin who tend to
shed make-up easily
Entertainers, actresses and models
Women
with vision problems, contact lens wearers
In fact,
any woman who wants to look her best — all the time,
with very little effort on her part.
How
would I know which color to choose?
Beginning with
a variety of basic pigment shades, virtually any color can be mixed
to compliment your natural skin tones.
What
if styles change?
As permanent
make-up professionals, we never do anything that is too trendy.
We use colors that are custom blended to compliment your skin tone,
eye and hair color to give a soft natural appearance. However,
the colors can be changed by blending another color over the original,
if you wish.
Is
it expensive?
Not if you look
at the long term cost and effect. It costs about one year of cosmetic
bills, but is little compared to 1- 5 years of daily make-up expenses.
Permanent Cosmetics is a great time saver and worth every penny.
Just what we've all been waiting for!
Does
it look natural?
Very natural
- your features look more defined. Your friends would never know
what the difference was in you unless you told them.
How
long will it last?
This varies with
each individual person, though the usual duration is between 1
- 5 years. Imagine how wonderful it would be to wake up each morning
with two matching eyebrows, or to go swimming and know that your
eyeliner and lip color is still intact when you emerge from the
water. You can look wonderful 24 hours a day!
Is
there a chance of infection?
Safety is our
priority. We have been highly trained in this art to exacting standards.
Although there is always a risk of infection, it is relatively
low compared to other procedures.
How
long does it take to heal?
Between four
and seven days, depending on the procedure that you have done.
What
is the healing period like?
On the second
day after a procedure, a light crust will form. After this crust
flakes off it is common for the color to lighten 10 - 50%.
What
will the procedure feel like?
Some patients
say it feels like plucking their eyebrows. Others say it feels
like slight scratching, vibration, or deep pressure. Some clients
feel absolutely nothing except a prickly or tickling sensation.
We can use anesthetics to greatly reduce discomfort and promote
relaxation. A new two-step topical numbing technique is used to
assure your comfort. The area may feel chapped or sunburned for
a few days.
How
long will the procedure take?
After your consultation
visit a 1 to 2 hour appointment will be scheduled for your saturation
visit (first procedure). This will be followed by a focus visit
to finish the details. All procedures are scheduled 4-6 weeks apart
to allow the skin to heal and the color to stabilize.
Will
there be any swelling?
There may be
a small amount of redness and swelling around the treated area.
This will be gone in 6 - 12 hours after a brow procedure, and 24
- 48 hours after eyeliner and lip color. Benadryl, a non-prescription
antihistamine allergy medicine, will help reduce the swelling.
This is recommended, especially for eyeliner and lip color applications.
Will
it fade?
A color
stabilization period occurs during the first two weeks. In 3 - 7
days, the epidermal (outer) layer of skin will gradually peel or
flake off as the new layer regenerates. Allow for a 10% - 50% fade
during this time. Over time the color will soften.
Will
I need to take off work?
No. There
is minimum swelling and redness. Ice is used to reduce swelling
and an ointment may be used for several days.
What
about sterilization?
Only sterile
disposable probes are used. All other equipment is either discarded
after use or sterilized in an autoclave according to strict guidelines
of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
What
if I need an MRI?
By all means
get the needed MRI. Temporary tingling, redness and swelling have
been reported for women with eyeliners. Advise your physician to
place a wet cotton over your eyes during the MRI or take a non-prescription
strength antihistamine such as Benadryl.

Advice from Linda
Add color to eyebrows that have thinned
or are nonexistent to lift the eyes and frame the face. (before
& after photos)
Proper placement of brows will open up the eyes and
oftentimes actually give the face a lift which makes you look years
younger.

Added bonus -- your makeup will always be evenly
